Practice of medicine has been around for centuries. If used for witchcraft or magic, or just for the sole purpose of healing, medicine is one of the pillars for human survival. Medicine is simply defined as the art and science of healing. The practice of medicine is to treatment and prevention of human diseases. Medicine is to treat and prevent illness and disease through surgery, drugs, and various forms of therapy.
The practice of medicine has for hundreds of years. Medicine was practiced early on by shamans, priests, and people known as a healer. The practice of using plants as medicine is known as herbal medicine. Herbal remedies are still practiced today. The Greeks, Egyptians, and Chinese civilization is one of the first experiments in the field of medicine.
The practice of medicine has become highly developed over the last hundred years or more. X-rays, MRI, CT scan, and further testing procedures were created. These tests can doctors and nurses at the patient’s body and organs to be seen. Doctors can diagnose illnesses such as bronchitis or a disease like cancer. They can find where the bones are broken.
Progress of drugs over the years also contributed to the number of many lives. During U. S. Civil War, many soldiers will have one or two limbs amputated because of injuries their field. Most of the soldiers who operated on will die of infection a few days or months later. The drug was not advanced enough to know how to perform successful surgery without infection.
The practice of medicine has helped treatments for cancer, diabetes, and heart disease to develop. Medicine is still working on treatments for diabetes and cancer, but further studies will be completed within the next 10 years or more. Doctors can now determine the exact location of disease or illness and which drugs to use the effects of the disease or condition that continues to look for.
One of the biggest advancements in medicine was the development of penicillin. It was developed in 1928 by Sir Alexander Fleming of Scotland. Penicillin is used for pharyngitis, tonsillitis and some skin infections heal. It is also used for gonorrhea, syphilis, and treatment of cellulite.
Millions of people were saved, thanks to advances in treatment, which will continue as more, and more progress is made in the medical field. This development can be minutes or can be larger than life as a cure for cancer. As doctors and scientists do not put time and effort in developing new types of drugs rather than drugs like penicillin do not always have been created. The drugs used for heart problems, headaches, stomach diseases, and sleep disorders to name a few controls.
